A: RESEARCH  POSITIONS  AVAILABLE  AT ARI,  PUNE

 

 Agharkar Research Institute, an autonomous Institute of the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India,  invites applications from Indian Nationals for Scientist positions  in the pay band (PB-3) of  Rs.15,600- 39,100+GP in  the respective grades  as admissible under Government of India rules:-

 

Scientist(s) D* in the  fields of Crop Physiology, Molecular Taxonomy, Nutritional Biochemistry and Plant Tissue Culture – Qualifications & Experience : At least 1st Class M.Sc in the relevant subject and Ph.D. with original work as evidenced by  published papers/patents.  Evidence of leadership with about 8 years of experience in research & Development and a proven track record of independent research work. A summary of research work carried out, future plans  and goals   along with two references letters may be sent along with the applications in the prescribed format. Age limit below 50 years

 

Scientist(s)C*  in the fields of Crop Physiology, Molecular Biology, Nutritional Biochemistry, Community Nutrition, Microbiology, Molecular Taxonomy and Plant Tissue Culture. Qualifications & Experience : At least 1st Class M.Sc in the relevant subject and Ph.D. with original work as evidenced by  published papers/patents.  Evidence of leadership with about 4 years of experience in research & development. Age limit below 40 years.

 

Scientist(s) B:  2 Posts(one each  in Plant Virology and Pharmacology).  Qualifications & Experience : 1st Class M.Sc  in the subject /M. Pharma. Dessirable : Ph.D. Age limit : 35 years.

B :  RESEARCH POSIONS IN NANOBIOSCIENCE

 

Applications are invited from Indian Nationals  for Scientist positions at its newly established Centre for Nanobioscience (CNB) which is committed to develop a strong research and teaching program in the area of Nanotechnology that is relevant to applications in medicine, agriculture and environment.

 

Future scientists of CNB are expected to work on topics such as disease diagnosis, cancer therapy, gene and vaccine delivery, tissue engineering, nanotechnological approaches to sub-cellular-resolution analysis and manipulation, nanotoxicology, functional nano (bio) materials, treatment of pollutants, nanoscale plant pathology and novel formulations for delivery of fertilizers or pesticides.

 

Essential Qualifications and Experience:- Candidates should have at least a First Class Master’s degree in Science/ Medicine/Engineering/Agriculture with relevant research experience and a strong publication record reflecting innovative, interdisciplinary, and collaborative approaches to important problems in biology or medicine. Candidates with a Ph.D. and post-doctoral experience will be preferred. Selected candidates are expected to participate in teaching program on nanobiotechnology when initiated.

 

The positions can be filled at Scientist C, D, or E level depending on the experience of the candidate.  Relevant research and/or teaching experience for Scientists C, D and E should be 4, 8, and 10 years, respectively.

 

Emoluments:-For Scientists C, the total emoluments payable at the minimum of pay band will be Rs.38,188/- pm. in the PB-3 (pay band Rs.15600-39100/- plus Grade Pay of Rs.6600/-). For Scientists D, the total emoluments at the minimum of pay band will be Rs.43,832/- pm with grade pay of Rs.7600/- in same pay band (PB-3). For Scientists E, the total emoluments at the minimum of pay band will be Rs.66, 408/- pm in the PB-4 (pay band Rs.37400-67000/- plus Grade Pay of Rs.8700/-).

 

General:- The initial appointments will be for five years with the possibility of renewal and promotion to the next level.

 

The Institute will provide necessary infrastructural facilities and a start-up grant to selected candidates. However, the candidates are expected to obtain external funding through independent research projects.
