Applications are invited for following positions under various projects in Biometry & Geology Group & Microbial Science Division,  being filled in through walk-in-interview, as under:-

 

[1] Research Student (1) Geology Group under ARI Project (i) `Forminifera from the Savitri Esturay and its impact on the sea level fluctuations, west coast’ (GEO-13 period up to March 2010). Qualifications: Essential: (i) 1st class M.Sc. in Geology & (ii) B.Sc. with Zoology as one of the subject. [2] Senior or Junior Research Fellow(1) in Palaeobiology Group under CSIR Project `Ichnologic events in the palaeogene formations of Kachchh, Gujarat’ (SP/162, period up to 14.04.2011). Stipend: SRF-Rs.14000/- + HRA, JRF-Rs.12000/- + HRA. Qualifications: Essentioal: JRF – 1st class M.Sc. in Geology & NET/GATE qualified, SRF- as JRF 2 years research experience after M.Sc. OR 2 years exp. with research publication. Desirable: Biology as subsidiary subject at B.Sc. Walk-in-interview on 16.12.2008 at 10.00 a.m.  Last date for receipt of application is 12.12.2008. In case of nonavailability of qualified SRF/JRF, the position may be filled at lower grade of `Research Student’ with 1st class M.Sc. as above, on fixed monthly stipend @ Rs.11000/-.

 

[3] Research Students (2) in Biometry Group one each under Project (i) `Early origins of hypertension’ (BIO-19 period up to March 2010) & (ii) `Soybean intervention study’ (BIO-20 period up to March 2010). Qualifications: for BIO-19: Essential: 1st class M.Sc. in Biochemistry. Work involves periodic blood sample collection and analysis of adults from neighbouring villages. Desirable: Two years experience of collection of blood samples and biochemical estimations using Autoanalyser. For BIO-20: Essential: 1st class M.Sc. in Nutrition/ Health Science/ Food Technology. Desirable: Two years experience in community nutrition studies especially nutrition intervention and growth studies. Work involves periodic survey of school children from neighbouring villages. [4] Research Associate (1) for HTBSIL PROJECT `Surface bound expression of genes encoding hydantoinase, nitrilase and monooxygenase in yeast and improvement of the thermal tolerance of these enzymes by site directed mutagenesis’ (SP/156 period upto 30.06.2009).  Qualifications : Essential : M.Sc. in Microbiology & Ph.D. (Thesis submitted may also apply).  Desirable : Publications in SCI journals.  Walk-in-interview on 18.12.2008 at 10.00 a.m.  Last date for receipt of application is 12.12.2008. Monthly Stipend : RA-16000/- + HRA, Ext. SRf-14000/- + HRA, JRF-Rs.12000/- + HRA & Research Student – Rs.11000/- (fixed) p.m.  Age limit: RA-35 yrs, SRF-30 yrs, JRF/Research Student 28 years.
