Applications are invited for
following temporary Scientific posts:-
[1] Scientist B for Chemistry Group of Animal
Sciences Division. Qualification: Essential: At least 1st Class M.Sc. in Organic/analytical Chemistry. Desirable: i) Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, ii) Knowledge of at least
one foreign language other than English and iii) Research experience in Natural
Product chemistry. Job
Requirements: To carry out isolation, purification, characterization of Phyto-chemicals
followed by their total or formal synthesis. [Code: Sc.B-CHEM].
[2] Scientist B for Botany Group of Plant Sciences
Division. Qualification: Essential: At least 1st Class M.Sc./ M. Pharm
in Pharmacology/ Biochemistry. Desirable: i)
Ph.D. in Pharmacology/Biochemistry, ii) Knowledge of at least one foreign
language other than English and iii) 2 years experience and publication in the
field of pre-clinical and toxicological studies in laboratory animals in
reputed journals. Job Requirements: Toxicity
studies, pharmacological screening of
plant extracts and new chemical entities using laboratory animals to understand
mechanism of action/s. Candidate should
be well versed with GLP norms followed for maintenance of animal house

[3] Scientist C for Microbial Sciences
Division. Qualification: Essential: i) At least 1st Class M.Sc.
in Microbiology. ii) 4 years R&D experience in Metal-microbe interactions, Nanoscience & Nanotechnology. Desirable: i) Ph.D. in the relevant subject, Publications/ Patents. Job
Requirements: To assist senior Scientists in the execution of R&D
Projects. Conducting R & D work in the area of metal-microbe interactions
and nanobiotechnology; preparation of R&D Projects for internal and
extra-mural funding, organization of scientific meetings, seminars, training
courses; supervision of post-graduate and doctoral students; publication of
research papers and filing of patents. [Code: Sc.C -MSD].
[4] Scientist
C for Biometry & Nutrition Group of Animal Sciences Division. Qualifications : Essential : i) At least 1st class M.Sc. Biochemistry, ii) 4 years R&D experience of handling blood
and food analysis for biochemical investigation, undertaking animal
experiments, handling modern equipments in laboratory. Desirable: Ph.D.
in Biochemistry (especially applied work related to nutritional biochemistry)
and Good research publication in peer reviewed journals. Job Requirements: Macro and
micronutrient analysis of food, biochemical estimations from blood samples from human
subjects and experimental animals, estimations from animal tissues using
sophisticated techniques. Knowledge of molecular techniques, preparation of research papers,
research proposals, project reports and making scientific presentations. [Code: Sc.C-BNG].

[5] Scientist
D for Zoology Group of Animal Sciences Division. Qualifications: Essential: i) At least 1st class M.Sc. in any area of life sciences, ii) 8 years R&D experience.
Desirable: Ph.D. in any area of life sciences. Job Requirements: Experience in the field of Animal
Developmental Biology as evident from consistent high quality publications,
ability to contribute significantly to the ongoing work in the area of cellular
interactions during development or initiate new line of work, preferably in the
area of animal morphogenesis and pattern formation. The selected candidate
would be expected to attract substantial extramural funding to supplement
institutional inputs and initiate national and international collaborations. [Code: Sc.D-ZOO].
General conditions : Age limits in years Sc.D-45,
Sc.C-40 and Sc.B-35, relaxable by 3/5 years for
OBC/SC, ST & 5 yrs. for employee applying through proper channel. Further
age relaxation may be considered in case of deserving and highly experienced
candidates. Pay-scales: Sc.B Rs.8000-275-13500 +
admissible allowances (TME Rs.18320/- approx), Sc.C
Rs.10000-325-15200.+ admissible allowances (TME
Rs.22640/- approx) & Sc.D Rs.12000-375-16500 (TME
Rs.26960/- approx). Candidates fulfilling above conditions may apply in the

Canvassing in any form and/or bringing in any influence political or
otherwise will be treated as a disqualification for the post. The prescribed essential qualifications are a
bare minimum and mere possession of the same will not entitle the candidate to
be called for interview. In case number
of applications received in response to an advertisement is large, it may not
be convenient or possible for the Institute to interview all the
candidates. The Institute may restrict
the number of candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable limit, on
the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed
in the advertisement. Interim enquiries
