Applications
are invited from Indian nationals
for a temporary post of Cytogenecist (Scientist C)
under the ICAR Grape Project being operated in the Genetics Group of Plant
Sciences Division of this Institute. Pay-scale PB-3 Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay Rs.6600 and other admissible
allowances (TME Rs.41429/- approx.). Age limit 40 years. relaxable by 3 & 5 years respectively for OBC & SC,
ST & Employees from Govt./Semi Govt./Autonomous Bodies applying through
proper channel.
Qualification: Essential: (a) At least 1st Class M.Sc. in Cytogenetics/ Genetics & Plant Breeding OR M.Sc. (Agri) with specialization
in Cytogenetics/ Genetics & Plant Breeding/
Horticulture. (b) 4 years R&D experience in the breeding
of horticulture crops. Desirable:
i) Ph.D. & post doctoral experience in the above
subjects. ii) Knowledge of at least one
foreign language other than English. Job Requirements: Candidate should be well versed with horticultural and
breeding work. Scientist concerned will have to work at laboratory in Pune or
Agricultural farm situated at Hol Atphata,
Tal. Baramati, Dist. Pune (about 80 k.m. from Pune),
as per needs. Selected candidate

General

case of deserving and highly experienced candidates. Candidates fulfilling

with attested copies of qualifications, certificates, Caste Certificate
issued by competent authority and Passport size photograph, to the Director,
ARI, Pune, before 31.01.2010. Canvassing
in any form and/or bringing in any influence political or otherwise will be
treated as a disqualification for the post.
The prescribed essential qualifications are a bare minimum and mere
possession of the same will not entitle the candidate to be called for
interview. In case number of
applications received in response to an advertisement is large, it may not be
convenient or possible for the Institute to interview all the candidates. The Institute may restrict the number of
candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable limit, on the basis of
qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the
