[1] Scientist B for Botany Group of Plant Sciences
Division. (Reserved for Scheduled Tribe, a backlog vacancy) Qualification:
Essential:
At least 1st Class M.Sc./ M. Pharm in Pharmacology/
Biochemistry. Desirable: i) Ph.D. in Pharmacology/Biochemistry, ii)
Knowledge of at least one foreign language other than English and iii) 2 years
experience and publication in the field of pre-clinical and toxicological
studies in laboratory animals in reputed journals. Job Requirements: Toxicity studies, pharmacological screening of plant extracts and new chemical
entities using laboratory animals to understand mechanism of action/s. Candidate should be well versed with GLP
norms followed for maintenance of animal house facility. [Code: Sc.B-BOT].
[2] Scientist B (Reserved for SC) for DST Project on `National Facility for Culture Collection of Fungi’ in Mycology Group (period initially up to March 2013, likely to be continued) : Essential: 1st Class MCA/MCM/Bio-informatics, etc. Desirable: Experience in database management and software development. Job Requirements: Development of comprehensive & user friendly software/inventory database for fungi, data entry, etc. [Code: Sc.B-DST Project]
General
conditions : Age limits in years Sc.B-35, relaxable
by 5 years for SC & ST. Further age relaxation may be considered in case of
deserving and highly experienced candidates. Pay-scale: (PB-3 Rs.15600-39100 +
Grade Pay Rs.5400 + admissible allowances (TME Rs.34934/- approx). Candidates
fulfilling above conditions may apply in the prescribed format available on the
Institute’s website http://www.aripune.org.,
with attested copies of qualifications, certificates, Caste Certificate
issued by competent authority and Passport size photograph, to the Director,
ARI, Pune, before 31.01.2010. Canvassing in any form and/or bringing in
any influence political or otherwise will be treated as a disqualification for
the post. The prescribed essential
qualifications are a bare minimum and mere possession of the same will not
entitle the candidate to be called for interview. In case number of applications received in
response to an advertisement is large, it may not be convenient or possible for
the Institute to interview all the candidates.
The Institute may restrict the number of candidates to be called for
interview to a reasonable limit, on the basis of qualifications and experience
higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement. Interim enquiries will not be responded.
