GENERAL
CONDITIONS FOR INFORMATION OF APPLICANTS
[1] Age limit relaxation
: SC & ST – 5 years, OBC – 3 years, internal candidates and candidates
applying through proper channel – 5 years.
Age relaxation for candidates belonging to reserved category will be
considered only if the candidates submit an attested copy of caste certificate
issued by the competent authority. Further age relaxation may be considered in
case of deserving and highly experienced candidates at the discretion of the
appointing authority.
[2] Application Fee: (a) Rs.25/- for all Group `D’ and equivalent posts, (b) Rs.50/- for all Group `C’ posts and JRF/SRF/Research Students and other equivalent posts. (c) Rs.100/- for all Group `A’ & Group `B’ posts and Research Associates/ Research Scientists and other equivalent posts. Application fee is to be payable by a Demand Draft only, in favor of Director, ARI, Pune. (d) No application fee for SC/ST candidates applying with attested copy of the caste certificate issued by the competent authority.
[3] Candidates applying for more than one Post/Group/Project, should submit separate application form for each
post accompanied by separate Demand Draft(s).
[4] In case of Project
positions like Research Associate/ Senior Research Fellow/ Junior Research
Fellow/ Research Student, when candidate/s with essential qualifications is/are
not available, the position may be filled at a lower level, as per need.
[5] Canvassing in any form and/or bringing in any influence political or otherwise will be treated as a disqualification.
[6] The prescribed essential qualifications are bare minimum and mere possession of same will not entitle the candidate to be called for interview. In case number of applications received in response to the advertisement is large, it may not be convenient or possible for the Institute to interview all the candidates. The Institute may restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable limit, on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement.
[7] The Institute reserves its rights to modify/ cancel the advertisement in partial or full and/or reject any or all applications received in response to the advertisement, without assigning any reason.
[8] Candidate need to apply along with all necessary documents on or before the prescribed last date. Applications received after the due date will not be considered.
[9] Interim enquiries will not be attended to/responded.

Applications are invited for following temporary positions in the Microbial Sciences Division & Biometry & Nutrition Group:-
[1] Research Scientist initially for a period of one year on a consolidated monthly emoluments of Rs.25000/-. Qualifications: Essential: Ph.D. in Microbiology/Biotechnology. Desirable: About 5 years experience on anaerobic bacteria/ biomethanation/molecular biological techniques for bacteria with good publication record.[Code:RS-MSD]
[2] Project Co-ordinator (1) under the DST Project `Implementation of WOS-B Scheme’. (period up to July 2010).
Stipend : Rs.15000/-
(fixed) p.m. with annual increment @ Rs.500/-. Qualifications : Essential: 1st Class M.Sc. with 4 to 5 years experience of co-ordinating research activities. Work will involve travel. Desirable:
Experience of writing project reports, arranging scientific meetings,

[3] Junior Research Fellows (2, one each in Biochemistry & Microbiology) under the DBT Project `Development of antioxidant enriched prebiotic supplement from indigenous plant materials’ (SP/154 period upto 22.10.2010). Stipend: Rs.12000/- + HRA. Qualifications: Essential: 1st class M.Sc. in Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology with clearance of CSIR-UGC JRF EXAM. Desirable: Experience in animal experiments/ cell culture/ microbial research methodology and handling of sophisticated instruments.[Code:JRF-BIO]
[4] Junior Research Fellows (1) under the DBT Project `Development characterization and field evaluation of honeybee attractants for enhancing crop yields’ (period 3 years). Stipend: Rs.12000/- + HRA. Qualifications: Essential: 1st class M.Sc. in Organic/Analytical Chemistry with clearance of CSIR-UGC/NET JRF or equivalent EXAM. Desirable: 2-3 years research experience. In case of non availability of qualified JRF, the position may be filled as Research Student on a monthly stipend @ Rs.7000/- (fixed) [Rs.11000/- fixed) subject to revision]
