Maharashtra Association for the Cultivation of Science (MACS) had invited applications for the post of Director at the Agharkar Research Institute, Pune, India (see details at  http://www.aripune.org/ ). Age limit mentioned in the earlier advertisement may now  be read as “below 55 years” .  Interested candidates below 55 years of age may submit their applications  by 31.12.2009 addressed to the Chairman, Institute Council, Agharkar Research Institute, G.G. Maharashtra Association for the Cultivation of Science(MACS)  invites applications from Indian nationals  for the post of  Director at the Agharkar Research Institute (ARI), Pune.  ARI is an autonomous Institute  fully financed by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt. of India, specializing  in Plant, Animal, and Microbial research including nanobioscience.

Qualification: A doctoral degree in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognized University/Institute.  Minimum 12 years postdoctoral research experience with high quality publications  in front line areas  of life sciences and commensurate administrative experience. 

Age limit: Below 50 years, relaxable up to 5 years for candidates working in Central Govt./ State Govt./Public Sector Undertakings/ Autonomous Institutes.

Pay Scale: PB-4 (Band Rs.37400-67000/-)plus Grade Pay of Rs.12,000/-(TME at the entry level Rs.88,496/-pm).
