The Institute desires to
enrol research fellows for research leading to Ph.D. degree in the following areas:
Botany (Mycology, Taxonomy,
Plant biotechnology, Plant tissue culture, Plant molecular biology,
Pharmacology & Pharmacognosy, Genetics & Plant breeding), Zoology
(Developmental biology, molecular biology), Microbiology (bioremediation,
anaerobic microbiology, nanobiotechnology, biochemistry, molecular biology, Environmetal Microbiology),
Chemistry (Phytochemistry, Organic chemistry), Biometry & Nutrition
(Nutritional biochemistry, Community nutrition, Experimental nutrition) Geology
(Palaentology, stratigraphy), Virology.
PhD degree admissions
Condition
In addition to fulfilling the University of Pune rules for PhD admission
Agharkar Research Institute (ARI) will admit only those applicants fulfilling any of the following three conditions:
• Applicants who are already working as research students on projects at ARI
• Applicants who have cleared qualifying exams which earn them fellowships, e.g. CSIR/ UGC/ ICAR/ ICMR/ DBT
• Applicants who are employed in Colleges and are teacher fellows
(DR Ranade)
